Agriculture Equipment Solutions

Repair and protection for irrigation systems, grain handling equipment, and farm machinery. Keep operations running through the season.

The Challenge

Agricultural equipment operates in some of the harshest conditions — abrasive grains, corrosive fertilizers, constant exposure to moisture and soil. When a pivot irrigation system fails during growing season or a grain auger breaks down at harvest, every hour of downtime costs money.

Traditional repair options require welding, machining, or complete replacement — none of which are practical in the field or on a seasonal timeline. Equipment is often remote, specialized parts take weeks to arrive, and qualified welders are hard to find during peak season.

Erosion from grain, slurry, and fertilizer destroys pump impellers, auger housings, and conveyor components. Corrosion attacks irrigation pipes, storage tanks, and metal structures exposed to chemicals and moisture.

The Belzona Solution

Belzona products are designed for field application — no welding, no machining, no hot work permits. Rebuild worn equipment in place and get back to operation in hours, not weeks. Cold-applied composites bond to metal, concrete, and most substrates without special equipment.

Ceramic-reinforced composites resist the abrasive wear from grain, seed, and slurry that destroys conventional materials. Chemical-resistant coatings protect against fertilizers, pesticides, and the corrosive environment of agricultural operations.

Belzona Technology Northwest provides product selection, training, and technical support for agricultural operations throughout Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Northern Idaho.

Equipment We Help Protect

Belzona products are used across agricultural operations — including but not limited to:

Irrigation Systems

Pivot systems, pumps, pipes, valves, and fittings subject to corrosion and erosion from water and soil

Grain Handling

Augers, conveyors, elevators, and storage bins worn by abrasive grain and seed flow

Pumps and Motors

Irrigation pumps, slurry pumps, and transfer equipment subject to cavitation and erosion

Storage Tanks

Fertilizer tanks, chemical storage, and water tanks requiring corrosion protection and leak repair

Concrete Structures

Feed bunkers, silage pits, equipment pads, and containment areas damaged by acids and impact

Processing Equipment

Mixers, grinders, separators, and processing machinery worn by abrasive materials

Problems We Solve

Common agricultural equipment failures that lead to costly downtime and production losses — and more:

Grain and Seed Erosion

Abrasive grain flow wears through auger housings, conveyor liners, and elevator boots. Ceramic-reinforced composites outlast steel in abrasive service.

Pump Cavitation and Wear

Irrigation and slurry pumps suffer from cavitation damage and impeller erosion. Rebuild worn pumps in place without welding or machining.

Fertilizer and Chemical Corrosion

Fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural chemicals attack metal and concrete. Chemical-resistant coatings protect storage and handling equipment.

Pipe and Fitting Leaks

Irrigation pipes, fittings, and valves develop leaks from corrosion and mechanical damage. Repair in place without shutdown or replacement.

Concrete Deterioration

Feed bunkers, silage pits, and equipment pads deteriorate from acid attack and impact. Rebuild damaged concrete with high-strength composites.

Seasonal Time Pressure

Equipment failures during planting or harvest can not wait for parts or contractors. Field-applied repairs get equipment back in service fast.

Belzona vs. Conventional Repair

Traditional agricultural repairs require welding, machining, or replacement — all impractical during peak season. Belzona composites deliver superior performance with field-friendly application.

Case Study

Irrigation Pump Rebuilding

A farming operation in Eastern Washington experienced severe cavitation damage on their main irrigation pump during the growing season. The pump impeller and volute were badly eroded, reducing flow rates and threatening crop irrigation schedules. Replacement parts were weeks out, and the pump could not be removed from service.

The maintenance team applied Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) to rebuild the damaged impeller and Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) to restore the volute surfaces. The repair was completed over a weekend, and the pump returned to full service Monday morning — in time to maintain irrigation schedules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can repairs be done in the field?

Yes. Belzona products are designed for field application with basic hand tools. No welding equipment, machine shop, or specialized training required. Repairs can be completed wherever the equipment is located.

How quickly can equipment return to service?

Most Belzona repairs can return to service in hours to overnight, depending on the product and application. This compares to days or weeks for welding, machining, or replacement parts — critical during planting and harvest seasons.

Will the repair hold up to abrasive grain?

Belzona ceramic composites are specifically designed for abrasive service. They can outlast steel by up to 4x in grain handling applications. The ceramic particles provide a hard, wear-resistant surface that handles continuous abrasion.

Can our farm staff apply Belzona products?

Yes. Belzona products are designed for application by maintenance staff without specialized certifications. We provide product training and technical support to ensure successful applications. Many farms keep Belzona products on hand for emergency repairs.

Do you support agricultural operations in our area?

Yes. Belzona Technology Northwest serves farming operations throughout Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and Northern Idaho. This includes the major agricultural regions of Eastern Washington, the Willamette Valley, and throughout the Pacific Northwest.
